Principal Electrical Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; required minimum number of days onsite under hirify.global's flexible workplace policy.

Salary: $112,000–$154,000 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Develop new embedded devices that interact with complex infusion systems.
• Design electrical circuits, select components, develop specifications, and build prototypes.
• Perform electrical design and testing for components, PCB assemblies, power supplies, wireless modules, and batteries.
• Plan and conduct research, testing, design verification, and validation activities.
• Document hardware requirements, detailed designs, DFMEA, risk analyses, verification plans, and test reports.
• Support manufacturing yield and obsolescence issues, guide engineers, and perform root-cause analysis on field returns.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in hardware design, preferably in medical or another regulated industry.
• Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, electrical schematics, and PCB layouts.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, current probes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, and similar laboratory equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and collaborative team skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
