Principal / Senior Principal Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; office-based work is expected for most teams

A cybersecurity company developing Cortex threat detection and data analytics capabilities for protecting sensitive organizations.

What you will do

• Architect and build data analytics and threat detection capabilities for the Cortex Detection Backend.
• Design resilient microservices that process millions of events per second across hundreds of petabytes of data.
• Define technical solutions with Product Management, R&D leaders, and Security Researchers.
• Lead design discussions, conduct deep-dive research, and mentor experienced engineers.
• Own the software development lifecycle and drive delivery in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Deep proficiency in modern backend languages and extensive Kubernetes and microservices experience.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, complex data modeling, and performance optimization for massive datasets.
• Experience scaling high-availability environments and owning production systems.
• Experience leading technical projects or mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Deep proficiency in Go or Python.
• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in high-scale SaaS or cybersecurity environments.
