Senior Software Engineer (C++/Python)

Location: Remote; Secret Security Clearance required for Department of Defense work

What you will do

• Participate in the full software development life cycle, including research, design, development, integration, deployment, and testing.
• Develop and integrate software systems for Department of Defense customers.
• Curate synthetic geospatial data in raster formats for simulation applications.
• Design, implement, test, and integrate software using C++ and Python.
• Operate in an agile, distributed development environment and contribute to DevSecOps processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of formal work-related software engineering experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance required.
• Experience with C++, Python, object-oriented software design, and full life cycle development.
• Experience with test-driven development, including tools such as JUnit or Pytest.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile processes and tools such as Scrum and JIRA.
• Experience with Linux and large datasets using NumPy, Pandas, Rasterio, or SciPy.
• Experience with performance testing, scalability, and system tuning.
• Experience with geospatial raster formats such as GRIB, NetCDF, and GeoTIFF.
• Experience with weather-related systems and data, technical writing, and presentations.
