Principal Systems Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; flexible workplace policy with a required minimum number of onsite days per week

Salary: $112,000–$154,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Lead technical teams for sustaining products with moderate to high complexity.
• Drive challenging development projects through final design and successful closure.
• Integrate deliverables from subsystem teams, cross-functional groups, and external partners.
• Evaluate risks, tradeoffs, strategies, and contingencies to recommend effective paths forward.
• Resolve constraints across engineering, risk management, compliance, reliability, clinical, human factors, and regulatory functions.
• Manage configuration and changes throughout the product lifecycle and coordinate contractors and third-party service providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree and 5+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering and related disciplines, including electromechanical engineering, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
• Experience working with cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong investigative, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
