Manager, Supply Chain Management (Aerospace)

Location: Carlstadt, New Jersey, United States; onsite role with approximately 20% travel

What you will do

• Lead procurement, materials management, supply planning, and related supply chain functions for highly engineered products.
• Manage and develop a team of more than three professionals, including succession planning and talent development.
• Develop strategic suppliers and agreements, expand dual sourcing, and improve supply chain resiliency, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Partner with contracts, program management, engineering, and operations on proposals, new program design, make-or-buy decisions, and outsourcing.
• Implement Design for Supply Chain, risk management, lead-time reduction, working-capital, KPI, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Ensure uninterrupted material flow and compliance with EAR, ITAR, UCC, FAR, DFARS, and customer contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 7 years; 13 years may substitute for a degree.
• Extensive experience in supply chain management, including sourcing, production planning, inventory, materials management, procurement, subcontracts, and complex negotiations.
• Experience leading teams, presenting to senior leadership, and applying metric-driven operational improvement.
• Knowledge of government subcontracting and FAR/DFARS compliance, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and supply chain risk management.
• Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office; knowledge of AS9100D, GD&T, engineering drawing review, and aerospace hardware manufacturing is expected or strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Background in engineering, manufacturing, business management, or another technical field.
• Experience with machining, welding, assembly, chemical cleaning, clean rooms, pressure testing, NDT, dimensional measurement, and precision aerospace assembly.
• Knowledge of pull systems, min/max controls, 5S+1 visual factory practices, and process drawing creation.
