Manager, Supply Chain Management (Aerospace) (procurement and materials management): Leading strategic and tactical supply chain execution for highly engineered aerospace and defense products with an accent on strategic sourcing, supplier development, planning, and supply chain resiliency. Focus on implementing Design for Supply Chain initiatives, managing government contracting compliance, reducing lead times and inventory, and delivering uninterrupted material flow.

Location: Carlstadt, New Jersey, United States. The role includes approximately 20% travel.

Salary: $100,500–$186,500 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead procurement, materials management, supply chain planning, and a team of 3 or more professionals.
  • Develop strategic suppliers, negotiate supplier agreements, and expand dual-sourcing and supply chain resilience.
  • Partner with Contracts, program management, engineering, and operations on proposals and new program design.
  • Implement Design for Supply Chain, risk management, process improvement, and KPI-driven transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure uninterrupted material flow, working-capital performance, lead-time reduction, and customer on-time delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with EAR, ITAR, UCC, FAR, DFARS, and customer contractual flow-down requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 7 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 13 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in supply chain management, sourcing, production planning, materials management, procurement, subcontracts, and complex negotiations.
  • Experience leading teams, developing talent, and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Experience with government subcontracting and FAR/DFARS compliance.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, inventory controls, root cause analysis, AS9100D, GD&T, and engineering drawing review.

Nice to have

  • Engineering, manufacturing, business management, or another technical degree.
  • Experience with aerospace hardware, precision assembly, machining, welding, chemical cleaning, clean rooms, pressure testing, NDT, and dimensional measurement.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
