Remote Tax Director (Tax)

Location: Remote opportunity based in Tampa, Florida, United States

Salary: USD 150,000–180,000 yearly, plus performance bonuses.

A tax firm transitioning from high-volume compliance to a premium, advisory-led practice serving business groups, growth-stage entrepreneurs, owner-operators, and high-income individuals and families.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of tax advisors and preparers.
• Grow Tax Advisory Services through proactive planning, multi-scenario tax strategy, and high-touch delivery.
• Own the quality, consistency, and timeliness of business and individual tax compliance work.
• Lead complex client relationships involving business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and multi-entity structures.
• Build technical training, quality assurance processes, and feedback systems for the tax department.
• Serve as the senior technical authority and participate in firm leadership and strategic planning.

Requirements

• Active CPA license required; a Master of Science in Taxation is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of public accounting experience, including significant leadership or review responsibility.
• Expertise in tax planning, compliance, and complex business and individual return review.
• Deep knowledge of 1040s, 1120-S, 1065, multi-state taxation, and multi-entity structures.
• Proven ability to build advisory-level client relationships and develop tax staff.
• Ability to bring structure and accountability to a growing firm.
