HPC Systems Engineer (High-Performance Computing)

What you will do

• Build and optimize high-performance trading systems, research compute clusters, databases, and support systems.
• Develop Python and Bash tools for monitoring, maintenance, and infrastructure automation.
• Manage the HPC environment, including schedulers, parallel filesystems, GPUs, and interconnects.
• Implement and optimize high-throughput storage solutions using technologies such as Lustre, VAST, and GPFS.
• Tune operating systems and batch workflows, perform root-cause analysis, and troubleshoot system failures.
• Plan capacity and design scalable, reliable systems in collaboration with quantitative researchers, strategy developers, application teams, storage, and networking specialists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience building Linux- and/or Windows-based HPC platforms.
• Experience with kernel-level and I/O subsystem tools such as sysctl, strace, tcpdump, and netstat.
• Hands-on automation experience with Python or comparable tools.
• Experience administering Lustre, GPFS, VAST, or other parallel filesystems.
• Understanding of resource schedulers such as HTCondor, SLURM, or similar technologies.
