Product ML Engineer (AI): Building and shipping machine-learning features for PhotoRoom's e-commerce products with an accent on production deployment, model selection, evaluation, and rapid product iteration. What you will do
- Embed within an SMB, Scaler, or Enterprise product team and solve focused machine-learning problems tied to customer and business outcomes.
- Own ML projects end to end, from problem framing and approach selection through shipping, measurement, and production iteration.
- Decide whether to fine-tune or build models internally or integrate external models, APIs, and libraries.
- Write production code in the product team's codebase and move projects from idea to production within weeks.
- Build evaluations, monitor live performance, investigate failures, and use customer feedback to guide improvements.
- Collaborate with the ML team on shared infrastructure, evaluation tooling, and technical expertise.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building and shipping ML-powered products.
- Strong experience with PyTorch or equivalent frameworks such as TensorFlow or JAX.
- Ability to fine-tune vision or diffusion models, design meaningful evaluations, and debug training runs.
- Experience writing maintainable production code and moving between experimentation and product engineering.
- Strong ownership, pragmatic decision-making, rapid iteration, and product-focused thinking.
- Fluent English required; French is not required.
Nice to have
- Experience shipping generative image or diffusion models into production.
- Experience evaluating third-party AI APIs against internal alternatives.
- Experience in a fast-growing startup or directly within a product team.
