Research Engineer / Scientist (AI)

Location

Location: Hybrid in London or Paris, expected to be in office 3 days a week with some travel between offices every 4-6 weeks.

What you will do

• Develop and train advanced LLMs and VLMs including multimodal architectures.
• Research and implement training methods for instruction following and tool use.
• Design and optimize data pipelines and large-scale distributed training systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into agentic AI systems.
• Evaluate model performance and communicate findings.
• Stay current with advancements in LLMs, VLMs, and related AI fields.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in London or Paris with hybrid office attendance.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Rust or similar and software engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch, JAX, TensorFlow.
• Experience training LLMs/VLMs with techniques like SFT, DPO, RLHF/RLVR, reward modelling, offline and online reinforcement learning.
• Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in ML, DL, NLP, CV or related field.
• Experience with large-scale distributed training and inference, multi-domain training, curriculum learning, and reinforcement learning with sparse rewards.
