Senior Infrastructure Engineer

What you will do

• Develop and drive scope in one or more areas of the infrastructure stack from ambiguous problems through design, implementation, and operation.
• Set technical direction by writing RFCs, evaluating tradeoffs, and making long-term decisions.
• Serve as the final escalation point on-call, leading incident resolution and post-incident reviews.
• Raise engineering standards through design and code reviews and mentorship.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, product engineering, and ground station operations as a technical leader.
• Identify and eliminate systemic toil and underinvestment across engineering domains.
• Represent the infrastructure team in technical decisions organization-wide and produce key documentation.

Requirements

• Must have US person status (ITAR requirement).
• 5+ years of production infrastructure experience with ownership of long-lived systems.
• Competence in Linux, networking, AWS or equivalent cloud, infrastructure as code (Terraform), containers and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and secrets management; expert-level depth in at least one.
• Experience taking ambiguous problems through design and implementation.
• Senior on-call experience as final escalation.
• Strong coding and automation skills in Python, Go, or similar.
• Proven technical writing and mentorship abilities.

Nice to have

• Expertise in networking (enterprise, site/ground station, or core).
• Security engineering experience including Vault, IAM, SIEM, and hardening programs.
• Compliance partnership experience with CMMC, FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, ITAR.
• Observability at scale including SLO/SLI frameworks and log pipelines.
• App platform and cloud architecture experience including EKS, GovCloud, Cloudflare, hybrid deployments.
• On-prem and hardware-adjacent operations in remote or regulated environments.
