Sr. Trial Attorney (Remote - Upstate NY)

Location: Fully remote work from various Upstate New York locations, with coverage of all counties in Upstate New York. Frequent travel and occasional overnight travel are required.

Salary: $138,000–$243,000 per year nationally; expected starting range of $138,000–$206,000 per year.

What you will do

• Represent clients under commercial and personal lines insurance policies as lead counsel or as part of a legal team.
• Handle civil litigation matters across courts and agencies in assigned jurisdictions, including cases of varying complexity and severity.
• Manage a productive caseload using proactive case management, technology, and hirify.global Trial Division methodology.
• Prepare timely, factually and legally sound case valuations and communicate them to clients and claims partners.
• Monitor changes in law, local rules, technology, and procedural requirements affecting litigation strategy.
• Build professional relationships, support case referrals, and mentor junior attorneys and staff.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in the state where the position is located.
• More than eight years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
• Significant trial advocacy, negotiation, analytical, legal writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex cases, prioritize work, adapt to changes in law and technology, and collaborate remotely and in person.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; credit and/or background checks are required.
