Lead Forecasting & Financial Analyst (Machine Learning)

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year, plus stock options

What you will do

• Develop and improve usage-based forecasting models for clients’ education benefit programs using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Increase forecast accuracy and reduce the monthly refresh cycle through backtesting and experimentation.
• Build tooling to identify correctable model issues and transfer modeling logic into documented, tested, reusable code.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Product, and Technology teams to improve supporting data, systems, and infrastructure.
• Provide insights and recommendations on forecast drivers and their impact on client and internal business metrics.
• Mentor junior team members and support continuous learning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics, data science, forecasting, or financial planning and analysis.
• Strong SQL skills and experience transforming large datasets into reusable formats.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R, with expertise in time-series and machine learning forecasting methods.
• Experience operationalizing models through backtesting, validation, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining.
• Experience working in an existing codebase and improving it collaboratively.
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, Omni, or a similar data visualization tool, plus fluency with AI-assisted development tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks and experiment tracking tools such as MLflow.
