Chief Data Officer - 12 month FTC

Location: London or Southampton, UK; hybrid work with 2–3 days in the office

What you will do

• Define and lead the enterprise-wide data strategy, aligning investments with business priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Build and lead a high-performing data organisation and promote data-driven decision-making across the Group.
• Establish scalable data platforms, architectures and engineering capabilities for analytics, automation and AI.
• Create data governance, ownership and quality frameworks that balance innovation with regulatory requirements.
• Shape the foundations for responsible AI adoption through trusted and accessible data.
• Advise the Board and Executive Committee while building relationships with regulators, industry bodies, partners and technology providers.

Requirements

• Executive-level leadership experience in data, analytics, information management or digital transformation.
• Proven success delivering enterprise-scale data transformation and measurable business value in complex, regulated organisations.
• Experience developing enterprise data strategies, governance frameworks and operating models at scale.
• Expertise in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, self-service analytics and data products.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, risk and regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional communication, commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills, including Board and Executive Committee engagement.
