Sr. Data Python Engineer (Ad Tech)

Location: Englewood, Colorado; this role can also be performed in Virginia

Salary: $135,683.35–$203,525.03 in Colorado; $135,683.35–$212,776.16 in Virginia

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize high-throughput data ingestion pipelines for large-scale advertising data.
• Improve pipeline performance, reliability, observability, and fault tolerance across distributed systems.
• Lead architectural decisions for unified ingestion frameworks across FreeWheel platforms.
• Develop and maintain Python-based microservices for real-time and batch ingestion.
• Write and review technical design documents, lead design discussions, and mentor engineers.
• Enable analytics and reporting through Snowflake, analytics-ready data models, and reliable data quality and traceability.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building data pipelines or distributed backend systems with Python.
• Strong proficiency in Python and microservices-based architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Production experience with CI/CD, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with distributed data systems such as Snowflake or Spark, plus SQL querying.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of coursework and related professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowpark or Databricks.
• Background in ad tech, media, or data-intensive platforms.
• Experience with batch and streaming ingestion, ingestion standardization, observability, or cloud cost optimization.
