AIT Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Bordeaux, France. Relocation assistance is available, including visa sponsorship where applicable.

Salary: €47,500–€70,000 gross per year

The Exploration Company develops, produces, and operates Nyx, a modular and reusable orbital vehicle designed for in-orbit refuelling and cargo transportation.

What you will do

• Design and develop electrical systems and architectures for propulsion test benches, including power distribution, signal conditioning, and control systems.
• Lead the assembly, integration, commissioning, and testing of electrical components for turbomachinery and engines.
• Define test procedures, document results, trace non-conformities, and contribute to risk assessments and operating procedures.
• Specify and review electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, sensors, actuators, power supplies, and data-acquisition systems.
• Troubleshoot and debug systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Perform root cause analysis, implement engineering improvements, and provide technical leadership during test operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, system integration, instrumentation, and electrical system testing.
• Experience with high-voltage AC/DC systems from 200V to 1000V and hands-on electrical hardware, wiring, and test equipment.
• Experience with electrical system design and commissioning, cabling and harness manufacturing, and CAD tools such as EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Fluent English, written and verbal, with a hands-on approach and strong focus on innovation, precision, and safety.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial control, automation, or data-acquisition systems such as Beckhoff.
• Familiarity with test bench operations.
