Product Compliance Manager

Location: Amsterdam-based hybrid position, with regular office presence in Amsterdam.

What you will do

• Translate regulatory standards, product-label criteria, and sustainability requirements into actionable product requirements for current and future product categories.
• Embed compliance requirements and acceptance criteria into Product Requirements Documents and product delivery processes from the start.
• Monitor global legislation, including the EU Battery Regulation, and convert legal assessments into technology and product roadmap input.
• Own product compliance technical files, Declarations of Conformity, user documentation, Health & Safety Guides, and packaging compliance texts.
• Define compliance and certification requirements for contracts and coordinate certification actions and testing with the Certification Manager, external testing labs, and certification bodies.
• Act as the internal point of contact for product compliance, conduct risk analyses and compliance assessments, and maintain compliance across the product portfolio as legislation, product design, or market scope changes.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of product compliance experience in the consumer electronics industry or a closely related field.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Law, or a related technical field.
• Deep expertise in global regulatory frameworks, including EU/CE requirements such as MSD, LVD, RED, and EMC, and US requirements such as UL, FCC, GCF, and Prop 65.
• Experience managing Technical Construction Files and related product compliance documentation.
• Strategic and analytical ability to translate high-level legislation into concrete engineering requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Practical knowledge of circular electronics, environmental directives, and sustainability certifications such as Blue Angel, EPEAT, Eco-rating, or TCO.

• Familiarity with Mandarin.
• Familiarity with French.
