Gross Margin Analyst (Energy Pricing)

What you will do

• Analyze and optimize commercial pricing for energy contracts and flexibility solutions by balancing procurement costs, margin targets, risk premiums, and market competitiveness.
• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data models and data warehouse infrastructure in dbt and Snowflake.
• Evaluate sourcing strategies, procurement efficiency, customer value, and customer segments to identify commercial opportunities.
• Model new regulatory frameworks, including ETS2 and green gas mandates, and establish sourcing workflows, data pipelines, and completeness controls.
• Monitor energy markets, tariffs, price volatility, and competitor offerings using scrapers and dashboards.
• Build real-time pricing tools, automated Lightdash or PowerBI dashboards, and business cases assessing financial and P&L impact.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and scaling data models with dbt and Snowflake or comparable tools such as Databricks or PostgreSQL.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with data modeling.
• Strong background in gross margin analysis, commercial pricing optimization, and financial metrics including Customer Lifetime Value, acquisition costs, and P&L impact.
• Understanding of, or strong affinity for, energy procurement, tariff structures, risk premiums, and energy market dynamics.
• Ability to translate complex pricing and data topics into clear insights for Commerce, Finance, Strategy, and other non-expert stakeholders.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Python and business intelligence tool experience, including Lightdash or PowerBI.
• Dutch language skills.
