Frontend Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Location: Hybrid role based in Lisbon, with a minimum of two days per week at the Amsterdam HQ

What you will do

• Build product experiences and innovations for buyers, sellers, customer service, and internal operations teams.
• Create adaptable web frontends using TypeScript and React on top of scalable microservices.
• Deliver responsive and accessible experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Measure, monitor, and optimize product performance, including availability, latency, and consistency.
• Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers on A/B tests, using data analysis to validate and iterate on ideas.
• Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers, QA, design, product, and engineering leadership.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Frontend Engineer using JavaScript or TypeScript, supported by a strong portfolio of frontend deliveries.
• Strong foundations in JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, HTTP/S, the Critical Rendering Path, CORS, caching, and CDNs.
• Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Next, Redux, CSS Modules, Tailwind, or Rails.
• Experience working in product companies and autonomous, cross-functional teams.
• Experience designing, implementing, deploying, monitoring, and managing production applications.
• Knowledge of SOLID and DRY principles, accessibility, security, SEO, performance, testing, observability, internationalization, and typing.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Node and experience running it in production.
