Fire Engineer

Location: Auckland, New Zealand. New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency required; the role includes site visits, construction inspections and final inspections.

What you will do

• Provide technical input and leadership on fire safety engineering projects from inception through completion.
• Develop and assess practical fire engineering solutions that meet the New Zealand Building Code and relevant Standards.
• Work with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to explain technical issues and solve complex fire safety challenges.
• Prepare and review technical reports, assessments and project documentation.
• Participate in site, construction and final inspections while maintaining safety, compliance and technical quality.
• Build client and industry relationships, represent hirify.global at industry events, support business growth in New Zealand, and mentor developing engineers.

Requirements

• New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Previous experience in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety Compliance.
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant fire safety Standards.
• Experience working on fire engineering projects and developing practical solutions to complex problems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and project stakeholders.
• Experience building relationships, networking and managing client relationships.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with technical professionals.
• Willingness to challenge traditional approaches when this delivers a better outcome, take ownership of projects, work effectively in a wider team, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Fire Engineering.
