TL;DR

Engineering Draftsperson (AutoCAD): Producing and maintaining engineering drawings for the safe operation, maintenance, renewal, and improvement of renewable energy generation assets with an accent on design documentation, drawing lifecycle management, and accurate as-built records. Focus on translating engineering requirements into construction-ready deliverables, coordinating with engineers and project teams, and supporting electrical, mechanical, civil, and control engineering work.

Location: Christchurch or Twizel, New Zealand

What you will do

Produce, update, and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Meridian’s drawing practices.
Prepare concept, design, construction, and as-built drawings for engineering projects and maintenance activities.
Develop drawing packages and supporting documentation for design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Provide drafting support for smaller capital and operational projects.
Work with engineers, project managers, technical specialists, contractors, and site personnel to translate engineering requirements into accurate deliverables.
Provide technical guidance on engineering drawings, drawing updates, and drafting practices.

Requirements

Relevant engineering, design, or CAD qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated experience in an engineering drafting or CAD role, including extensive experience using AutoCAD.
Experience producing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Knowledge of electrical, control and instrumentation, mechanical, and civil engineering drawings.
Understanding of drawing lifecycle management and as-built processes.
Ability to interpret engineering designs, mark-ups, and technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice to have

Experience in hydro generation, industrial, utilities, or infrastructure environments.
