Engineering Manager

Location: Hybrid in Malaysia, based at the Bandar Utama office in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, at least 3 days per week, with the remaining days available for remote work.

What you will do

• Lead and manage engineers across frontend, backend, and full-stack development.
• Own engineering delivery for major product areas, balancing speed, reliability, scalability, and technical quality.
• Partner with product, design, mobile, backend, and AI teams to turn ambiguous problems into clear technical execution.
• Drive architecture and engineering decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure, and customer-facing systems.
• Set standards for code quality, system design, testing, observability, security, and production reliability.
• Coach engineers, manage performance, improve processes and automation, and take ownership of incidents and root-cause resolution.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with experience building and shipping production systems.
• Experience leading or managing software engineers and owning engineering delivery.
• Technical depth across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to make architecture and technical trade-offs while balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
• Strong people leadership, product sense, ownership, and the ability to work effectively with ambiguity.
• Strong English communication is required; English is the main working language across global teams.
