Localization Project Manager — Japan Training Quality

Location: Tokyo, Japan preferred; remote applicants with strong Japanese market expertise and timezone overlap with Japan are also considered

What you will do

• Own and apply Japanese localization QA standards for customer training content, including accuracy, clarity, tone, terminology, and cultural nuance.
• Support glossaries, style guides, QA checklists, review processes, and other localization assets.
• Review technical implementation in e-learning authoring tools and LMS environments, including course files, quizzes, answer selections, formatting, and setup.
• Coordinate Customer Education, Partner Enablement, Localization, language specialists, and vendors on priorities, timelines, translation progress, and quality expectations.
• Identify workflow risks and recommend improvements that increase translation quality and reduce time-to-launch.
• Document repeatable processes for training and help center localization.

Requirements

• Native-level Japanese language expertise and a deep understanding of effective education in the Japanese market.
• Strong understanding of localization workflows, vendor collaboration, review cycles, glossaries, style guides, QA rubrics, and linguistic QA.
• Experience with Japanese localization QA, preferably for SaaS, technical training, customer education, or partner enablement content.
• Ability to assess translated content for quality, clarity, terminology accuracy, cultural nuance, and learner comprehension.
• Strong attention to detail and project management skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous areas.
• Familiarity with e-learning or LMS tools and comfort working with technical or product terminology.

Nice to have

• Experience with Skilljar or Parta authoring tools.
