Software Engineer, Proactive Capabilities (AI/Security)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, or Menlo Park, California, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay: $166,000–$195,000 USD in Zone 1; $147,000–$172,000 USD in Zone 2; $130,000–$152,000 USD in Zone 3, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and scale reliable security tooling and services that improve visibility and expand scanning coverage.
• Design and deploy AI agents and security automation workflows for proactive risk discovery and remediation.
• Partner with Security Engineering and Product Engineering to establish secure-by-default design patterns and paved paths.
• Participate in design and system reviews for proactive security initiatives.
• Join an on-call rotation supporting the availability and reliability of critical security services.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and practical system design experience.
• Experience building scalable, reliable microservices and engineering tools.
• Proficiency in Go or Python, with a preference for Go.
• Hands-on experience deploying services in cloud environments, preferably AWS or an equivalent GCP environment.
• Foundational knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes.
• Security domain knowledge, including attacker lifecycle concepts, application security, and security tooling development or integration.

Nice to have

• Experience applying AI, LLMs, or agentic frameworks to security problems.
• Background in developer productivity, security automation, or reducing operational toil.
• Application Security experience, bug bounty participation, or CTF experience.
• Advanced Kubernetes experience or experience building enterprise security platforms at scale.
