Data Migration/ETL Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; US citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance are required. The client is located in Washington, DC.

Salary: $60,000–$180,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and develop ETL processes and data pipelines using approved schemas and non-proprietary standards.
• Create obfuscated datasets and migrate data securely into non-production environments.
• Develop and execute migration test cases and scripts to validate completeness, accuracy, and go-live readiness.
• Run migration dry runs, assess data against quality standards, and refine transformation logic.
• Perform data cleansing, mapping, production migration, reconciliation, and post-migration audit support.
• Support SFTP and encrypted file-based ingestion, data dictionaries, validation testing, and daily migration status reporting.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance are required.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience; 2 years of consulting experience are preferred.
• Hands-on ETL development experience on enterprise-scale data migrations.
• Strong SQL and data transformation skills.
• Experience loading data into a cloud HCM or ERP platform, with validation, reconciliation, and volume error-handling experience.

Nice to have

• Oracle HCM Data Loader and HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader experience.
• Experience extracting data from PeopleSoft HCM, Workday, or mainframe/COBOL HR systems.
• Federal HR data experience, including EHRI and federal records retention schedules.
• Experience handling large-volume PII under Privacy Act constraints.
