Security Platform Engineer (SIEM)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work between home and the office

Salary: CAD 65,000–105,000 annually

What you will do

• Support and manage Splunk Enterprise Security SIEM capabilities within the Security Visibility squad.
• Develop security use cases, analyze information systems, and implement enterprise security technologies.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, participate in 24x7 on-call support, and contribute to major incident management.
• Identify business risks and recommend risk-driven security controls and countermeasures.
• Manage the capacity, resiliency, documentation, playbooks, and operational processes of security platforms.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, IT operations, architecture, application development teams, vendors, and auditors.

Requirements

• University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience in information technology or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of information security and engineering experience with enterprise security technologies.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as QRadar or Splunk ES, IDS/NDR, threat simulation, incident response, or detection engineering.
• Knowledge of NIST and ISO 2700x standards, security controls, risk management, networking, firewalls, WAF, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
• Experience with endpoint detection and response, certificate management, email security, web content filtering, and enterprise technology deployments using Scrum or Kanban.
• Knowledge of AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, disaster recovery, and security policy development.
