Trade Compliance Operations Manager

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Kuala Lumpur Trade Compliance Operations team.
• Personally execute routine trade compliance and classification activities under approved playbooks.
• Prepare complete, audit-ready escalation packages for novel, sensitive, or precedent-setting matters.
• Allocate work, manage queues, monitor cycle times, and run delivery and performance routines.
• Perform first-line quality assurance, track errors, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Support the controlled expansion of trade compliance execution scope and workflow, data, and tooling improvements.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience in trade compliance operations, export controls operations, customs operations, or a similar regulated execution environment.
• Proven people leadership experience combined with hands-on execution experience.
• Practical understanding of classification execution, documentation discipline, and escalation logic.
• Experience working as a player–coach in a scaling environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, law, international trade, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.
