What you will do
- Lead and develop the Kuala Lumpur Trade Compliance Operations team while actively executing trade compliance activities as a player-coach.
- Perform routine classification work under approved playbooks and prepare authority-ready escalation packages for novel, sensitive, or precedent-setting matters.
- Allocate work, manage queues, monitor cycle times, balance workloads, and run regular delivery and performance routines.
- Enforce execution governance through sampling, error tracking, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, retraining, and audit-ready documentation.
- Identify opportunities to standardize recurring work, expand playbooks, improve workflows and data, and support the controlled transfer of additional trade compliance activities to Kuala Lumpur.
- Coordinate with the Operations Control Tower, Trade Compliance Infrastructure, Process, Risk, and authority teams through defined escalation channels.
Requirements
- 6–10+ years of experience in trade compliance operations, export controls operations, customs operations, or a similar regulated execution environment.
- Proven people leadership experience combined with hands-on execution experience.
- Practical understanding of classification execution, documentation discipline, escalation logic, and playbook-based work.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, law, international trade, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluent English in written and spoken communication.
- Comfort operating as a player-coach in a scaling environment.

- Experience contributing to workflow, data, tooling, or assistive AI improvements.
