TL;DR
Journeyman Financial Data Analyst (AF) (Air Force Financial Management): Analyzing, reconciling, and correcting Air Force financial transactions and accounting discrepancies with an accent on DoD financial management processes, contract obligations, and disbursement data. Focus on navigating Air Force accounting systems, resolving customer issues, balancing Direct-to-Obligation transactions, and supporting recurring and end-of-year financial operations.
Location: Dayton, Ohio. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

What you will do
- Navigate Air Force accounting and feeder systems to perform data entry and correct financial records.
- Analyze, reconcile, and correct transactions involving contract modifications, disbursements, accounts receivable bills, and Direct-to-Obligation balancing.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Power BI to analyze financial data.
- Investigate and resolve accounting issues identified by Financial Management customers.
- Support SAF/FMF teams during surge and end-of-year processes.
- Provide targeted user assistance based on metrics, recurring critical-task results, and data analysis.
Requirements
- At least three years of Air Force Financial Management experience.
- Experience with Department of Defense Financial Management processes and procedures for posting accounting entries.
- Ability to brief and communicate effectively with senior leaders and managers.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Familiarity with Air Force Lines of Accounting and financial data elements.
- Experience reconciling contract and obligation documents, miscellaneous collection and disbursement vouchers, Direct-to-Obligation balancing, Open Document Listings, and dormant obligations.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure, or HighBond.
- Familiarity with Air Force and DoD financial systems including Advana, CDS, CRIS, DCMS, DEAMS, GAFS-BL, GAFS-R, IPAC, MOCAS, PIEE, and WAWF.
