Senior Data Scientist, Growth (Fintech)

Location: Remote within Canada; optional access to office spaces in Montreal and Toronto.

Salary: CAD 150,000–200,000 per year, plus equity, performance-based increases, benefits, and paid time off.

What you will do

• Partner with engineering and design teams to improve acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and customer experience.
• Work with marketing, finance, and operations to identify growth opportunities and support business decisions.
• Champion experimentation and decision frameworks for rapid, evidence-based product iteration.
• Define KPIs and success metrics, and analyze user journeys, lifecycle behavior, conversion funnels, and financial performance.
• Apply statistical analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and machine learning to understand user behavior and business performance.
• Build dashboards, models, self-serve tools, and shared data-layer capabilities for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science, growth analytics, experimentation, or related roles in high-growth environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Deep understanding of experimentation, causal inference, statistical analysis, forecasting, and KPI design.
• Strong product and business intuition, cross-functional collaboration skills, and the ability to connect user behavior to company outcomes.
• Ability to operate autonomously, manage multiple ambiguous projects, and influence decisions through clear data-driven reasoning.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in startup or high-growth consumer environments.
• Experience with PostHog, Statsig, or Amplitude.
• Experience with dbt, Snowflake, and modern data stacks.
• Experience with lifecycle marketing, customer segmentation, or growth modeling.
• Familiarity with hirify.global, bitcoin, or non-sovereign money.
