Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Cambridge, UK; hybrid working with attendance at the Cambridge office once every two weeks

Salary: Up to £55,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Deliver significant features end-to-end across internal systems for data, security, purchasing, licensing, identity, authentication and usage.
• Support product engineering teams and the wider business through reliable shared applications and services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and deepen understanding of hirify.global’s platform design and operation.
• Investigate, resolve and prevent production issues using logs, telemetry, database queries and service diagnostics.
• Work with systems and technologies including C#/.NET, React, Azure, event-driven architecture and observability tooling.

Requirements

• Mid-level experience with modern C#/.NET, SQL, source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of design principles and architectural patterns, including the ability to assess trade-offs.
• Strong engineering practices including unit testing, code review, debugging and safe change management.
• Awareness of distributed-system risks such as timeouts, retries, versioning and partial failures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical findings, risks and trade-offs.
