Payment Operations Specialist (FinTech)

What you will do

• Source counterparties through partner networks and prepare relationship requests covering legal entities, jurisdictions, services, volumes, and timelines.
• Screen counterparties by risk profile and support compliance reviews by assembling KYC/KYB packages and addressing compliance queries.
• Assess tax compatibility between jurisdictions, coordinate tax specialist tasks, and control WHT and VAT risks.
• Prepare legal questionnaires, review agreements before signing, and negotiate rates, volumes, and settlement terms.
• Coordinate payment-related information across teams and support the setup through the first completed funding transaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in financial operations, fintech, or B2B corporate services.
• English at B1+ level for correspondence, calls, and contract reading; Russian and English communication skills are required.
• Confident use of Jira and Excel or Google Sheets, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of international transfers via SWIFT and SEPA, including processing times, fees, OUR/SHA/BEN instructions, returns, and bank enquiries.
• Hands-on experience with cross-border settlements and preparing counterparty documentation for internal compliance review.

Nice to have

• Experience negotiating commercial terms with external counterparties.
• Knowledge of economic substance criteria, WHT and DTT rates, tax residency certificates, place of supply, and permanent establishment indicators.
• Experience in a holding or group with 10 or more legal entities.
• Experience with stablecoin settlements, including payment requests, transaction confirmation, and fee reconciliation.
• Background in PSP/EMI, corporate services, or tax and corporate consulting.
