Senior Network Security & Cloud Developer (Cloud Security)

Location: Onsite at an HPE office in San Jose, California, United States

Base salary: USD 155,500–315,000 annual in California, United States; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design and develop reliable, cost-effective, high-quality software solutions across cloud platforms and networking devices.
• Build cloud-based solutions for mission-critical applications and contribute to end-to-end technical delivery.
• Prototype, design, implement, deploy, operate, monitor, and support cloud engagements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, align them with technology roadmaps and business value, and plan architecture integration and updates.
• Review designs and project activities for compliance with development standards, provide feedback to improve quality, and mitigate failure risks.
• Mentor developers and collaborate with project managers and development partners on delivery and support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
• Typically 8+ years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and one of Python, Golang, or Java.
• Deep expertise in software systems design, development methodologies, and integration across diverse platforms and technologies.
• Proficiency in cloud-based security concepts, including identity and access management, firewalls, VPN, and in-plane switching systems.
• Experience designing robust and scalable applications in embedded networking and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD environments.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker containers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate product architectures and design proposals and negotiate options with business-unit and executive stakeholders.
• History of innovation demonstrated through multiple patents or deployed software-design solutions.
