Technician C, Electric Service Support Center (SW)

Location: Berlin, CT, United States. This is an on-site, seated support center position and is not a field role. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be required, including emergency restoration assignments outside normal work hours or location.

Salary: $61,650–$68,500 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Receive and process customer requests through telephone, web, and email for new electric service installations, upgrades, and removals.
• Gather and verify customer, contractor, billing, design, construction, inspection, licensing, scheduling, and easement information.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers, contractors, and municipal officials throughout each request.
• Provide policy-based cost estimates and process inspections, prepayments, and contributions in aid of construction.
• Manage selected non-design work types from initiation through completion and update internal systems with field notes, appointments, and progress.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Electric Operations, Customer Billing Services, and Remittance Services, including during emergency storm response.

Requirements

• High school diploma plus four years of related electric distribution experience, or an associate’s degree in electrical technology or equivalent.
• Strong customer focus, organization, communication, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Successful completion of the Technician aptitude test.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, plus typing ability.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code.
• Utility or electrical experience and a Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Experience with Maximo Work Management System, C2, or OMNI.
