Head of Research (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Build and lead the hirify.global Labs research team, including hiring, standards, and researcher development.
• Set the research agenda across phishing kits, scam infrastructure, malvertising, malicious extensions, messaging abuse, and emerging techniques.
• Investigate threats across web, email, SMS, calls, and social platforms, including reverse-engineering payloads and attacker infrastructure.
• Turn research discoveries into production detections, model-training signals, and product decisions with analysts, engineers, and product leadership.
• Build threat-knowledge systems and automation using telemetry from more than 1 million users.
• Lead publications, responsible disclosure with major vendors, conference participation, and media representation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in security research, threat intelligence, or offensive/defensive cybersecurity.
• Experience leading and growing researchers or analysts while continuing to deliver hands-on research.
• Technical depth in areas such as browser internals and extensions, DOM/JavaScript deobfuscation, network and infrastructure analysis, email authentication and abuse, or telephony/SMS abuse.
• Experience using LLMs and agents as research infrastructure and understanding their limitations.
• Ability to query large-scale datasets with SQL, BigQuery, or pandas and identify trends and anomalies.
• Python or JavaScript development, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to communicate with leadership, product, engineering, and external audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with Chrome DevTools, Burp, VirusTotal, URLScan, and OSINT techniques.
• Background in an elite intelligence unit.
