Accelerator Software Engineer

Location: On-site in San Jose, United States. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to San Jose.

What you will do

• Develop accelerator software across ASIC firmware, microcontroller firmware, and host-side kernel and drivers.
• Implement CPU initialization, bootloaders, I/O drivers, on-chip application software, and inference instruction execution.
• Build platform software for power sequencing, telemetry, firmware updates, and chip bring-up.
• Develop Linux kernel drivers, PCIe-visible memory management, low-latency ring-buffer command queues, and SR-IOV virtual-function device management.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on ASIC architecture, schematics, validation, and production software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Experience shipping and testing production software.
• Depth in firmware design, implementation, and debugging.
• Familiarity with embedded architectures and silicon-to-host technologies including ARM, PCIe, DMA, HBM, DRAM, Ethernet, and UART.
• Understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience bringing up a new chip or board for the first time.
• Experience solving ambiguous, under-specified problems and applying low-level architecture concepts such as caching or AXI fabrics.
• Strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary engineering collaboration.
