Senior Software Engineer, Program (Java/Spring)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design an authoritative source of truth for program configuration and lead the migration to it.
• Lead schema design and data-flow architecture through collaborative processes.
• Build and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs using contract-driven development.
• Develop data-backed, client-facing capabilities and tooling across the stack.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders on high-impact projects.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a respectful, open, and collaborative technical culture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level responsibilities.
• Senior-level experience with the Java and Spring ecosystem.
• Experience with web services, RESTful APIs, testing methodologies, and full SDLC best practices.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating cross-functionally on complex technical problems.
• Ability to work autonomously, define technical vision, and guide scalable solutions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship and immigration-related support are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with real data migrations, Domain-Driven Design, and decomposing monolithic systems into services.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores such as MongoDB, Postgres, and Snowflake.
• Experience with protocol buffers, gRPC, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience with highly configurable software products or the energy, distributed energy resources, and virtual power plant domains.
