Supplier Quality Inspector (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; on-site at hirify.global's Northern California headquarters

Base hourly pay: $30–$44 USD

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates small, low-cost telecommunications satellites that provide secure bandwidth-as-a-service to enterprises, governments, and the U.S. military.

What you will do

• Perform receiving inspections of flight hardware against 2D drawings, part specifications, work orders, and inspection procedures.
• Inspect machined parts, assemblies, systems, PCBAs, and harnesses across multiple commodities.
• Create and manage nonconformance tickets, dispositions, corrective actions, and related quality records.
• Review certificates of conformance, end-item data packages, and technical data packages.
• Work with Engineering and Production to resolve nonconformances and improve inspection procedures.
• Own the incoming quality station, maintaining cleanliness, standardization, efficient workflow, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of nonconforming hardware control, failure and root-cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action processes.
• Experience reading design drawings and CAD models.
• Experience using manual metrology gauges, including micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and go/no-go gauges.
• Experience using a microscope to visualize and photograph defects, plus strong written, verbal, and teamwork skills.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status required. Willingness to work overtime or weekends when required.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems.
• IPC-600, IPC-610, or IPC-620 knowledge.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing training.
