Facilities Engineer (AI Infrastructure): Operating and maintaining the electrical, mechanical, cooling, HVAC, and building management systems that support a data center AI compute environment with an accent on uptime, safety, and energy efficiency. Focus on troubleshooting critical infrastructure, coordinating commissioning and upgrades, monitoring facility health through BMS/DCIM, and supporting 24/7 operations.

Location: Sparks, Nevada, United States; on-site

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annually plus bonus and Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

  • Operate, maintain, and optimize electrical distribution, UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators, ATS, HVAC, cooling plants, and building management systems.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs and resolve facility work orders.
  • Monitor facility health through DCIM and BMS platforms, identify anomalies, and respond to issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support facility expansions, retrofits, equipment upgrades, commissioning, and integrated systems testing with construction and capital projects teams.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors, maintain technical documentation, and support power, cooling, and space capacity planning.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for 24/7 critical facility operations and enforce LOTO and electrical safety procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in facilities engineering, data center operations, or critical infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, UPS/PDU systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches.
  • Experience with CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water plants, cooling towers, and precision air systems.
  • Familiarity with BMS/DCIM platforms and the ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, and applicable fire and life-safety regulations.
  • On-site work in Sparks, Nevada, United States is required. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are expected.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hyperscale or colocation data center experience and familiarity with Sunbird, Nlyte, or similar DCIM tools.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Experience with commissioning and integrated systems testing.
  • Knowledge of data center energy efficiency practices, including PUE optimization and free cooling.
