Senior AI Engineer

Location: United States; the stated salary range applies to the Playa Vista, California location, while hirify.global is a multi-state employer.

Salary: $179,000–$241,000 base annually for candidates working in Playa Vista, California.

What you will do

• Design and implement multi-step agentic workflows with routing, planning, tool use, memory, and state management using LangGraph or LangChain.
• Build retrieval and context pipelines over proprietary commercial real estate data, including RAG, embeddings, and vector search.
• Develop evaluation frameworks, offline evaluations, production monitoring, and human-in-the-loop annotation processes.
• Work with Anthropic models on AWS Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore, while evaluating open-weight alternatives for cost, latency, and capability.
• Implement guardrails, structured outputs, ambiguity handling, explainability, source linking, and trace-level observability across LLM and tool calls.
• Prototype with Product and Design based on user feedback and convert successful solutions into scalable, reusable production capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience in production environments, including 2+ years building LLM-powered applications in production.
• Practical experience with agentic architectures, multi-step pipelines, tool or function calling, state machines, and memory.
• Strong Python skills and experience building production backend services and APIs.
• Experience designing retrieval systems with RAG, embeddings, and vector search.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, plus GitHub or GitLab, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM evaluation pipelines, production monitoring, and human-in-the-loop annotation.
• Experience evaluating open-weight AI models and using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
