Senior Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote, Spain only. Attendance at company or team offsites 1–2 times per year is expected, with exceptions considered.

Salary: €82,000–€115,000 per year

What you will do

• Drive migration to Amazon EKS by developing reusable Kubernetes patterns for deployment, autoscaling, networking, and workload reliability.
• Expand the platform into a second AWS region with multi-region resilience, failover, data residency, and repeatable provisioning.
• Own shared cloud infrastructure and automate provisioning with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Make observability self-service through versioned dashboards, alerts, monitoring-as-code, and reusable OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
• Build and operate an AI platform layer for engineering, including managed model access, reusable tooling, templates, documentation, and adoption measurement.
• Improve CI/CD, document platform decisions, collaborate with product teams, and participate in the production on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating cloud infrastructure on a major cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including migrating workloads between CI platforms.
• Experience with multi-region deployments, failover, data residency, and repeatable provisioning.
• Experience building AI tooling adopted by other engineers, plus production-quality coding or scripting in Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or a similar language.
• Knowledge of secure cloud networking, observability, production troubleshooting, on-call operations, and clear technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Security scanning, intrusion detection, policy-as-code, or other DevSecOps experience.
• Experience with managed API gateways such as Kong.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, data pipelines, LLM output evaluation, or measuring AI tooling impact on developer productivity.
