Senior Autonomy Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end deployment of autonomous wheeled robotic systems in customer environments.
• Configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain systems under real-world operating conditions.
• Analyze field feedback and implement monitoring and diagnostic tools to improve reliability and performance.
• Train and support customer operators, translating technical concepts into actionable workflows.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, AI research, product, and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop scalable deployment practices and playbooks for future rollouts.

Requirements

• PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or an MS with 2+ years of relevant experience; or a BS with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience deploying complex technical systems in the field.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Git, and ROS/ROS2.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across software, hardware, and networking layers.
• U.S. Person eligibility is required for federal projects, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee status, or asylee status.

Nice to have

• Experience operating or maintaining mission-critical systems in real-world environments.
• Experience with Jira, Wrike, Confluence, or similar program management tools.
• Experience working directly with customers in high-stakes, fast-paced settings.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers as needed.
