What you will do

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot materials testing and analytical equipment including load frames, profilometers, durometers, microscopy systems, and SEM
• Execute test plans per ASTM standards or develop custom methodologies with engineers
• Configure and validate test setups for accurate and repeatable results
• Document procedures, calibration activities, and test results to support quality and traceability
• Analyze and communicate data to inform design decisions and improve system performance
• Design and fabricate fixtures and components to support testing needs
• Mentor junior technologists on equipment operation, fabrication, and safety practices
• Develop knowledge of radiation safety and contamination control practices

Requirements

• Must have 8+ years of hands-on experience operating mechanical testing systems and analytical instrumentation
• Strong proficiency with materials testing equipment and imaging tools
• Extensive fabrication experience including fixture design and precision measurement
• Ability to execute structured test workflows and produce reliable data
• Experience troubleshooting complex mechanical and instrumentation issues
• Strong technical documentation skills and collaboration with engineers
• Familiarity with controlled, high-risk, or radiological environments preferred
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
