Senior Android Engineer

Location: Remote - US; attendance at twice-yearly in-person offsites hosted in locations around the U.S.

Salary: $165,000–$215,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own Android features end to end, from understanding user problems and building solutions to shipping and evaluating performance.
• Shape product scope, challenge assumptions, propose simpler solutions, and identify platform constraints early.
• Write idiomatic, well-tested Kotlin and Jetpack Compose UI within the existing Android architecture.
• Collaborate with iOS, web, and backend engineers to decide where functionality should live.
• Partner with leadership, design, and engineers in the U.S. and France to turn ideas into polished Android features.
• Raise the bar for mobile code quality, testing, product thinking, and decision-making in ambiguous situations.

Requirements

• Several years of experience building production Android applications.
• Expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture.
• Ability to work credibly on at least one additional platform: web, iOS, or backend.
• Product engineering mindset, including understanding underlying problems, challenging unclear requests, and evaluating impact after launch.
• Experience collaborating closely with designers and engineers on other platforms and explaining technical trade-offs clearly.
• Strong systems instincts, adaptability, willingness to learn, and ability to advocate for an approach while remaining open to alternatives.
• Ability to move projects forward through ambiguity and make effective trade-off decisions.
