Hardware Validation Engineer

Location: San Jose, United States; on-site. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to San Jose.

Salary: $150K–$275K plus significant equity.

What you will do

• Verify system hardware and PCB functionality against design specifications, including power and signal integrity margins.
• Collect and analyze laboratory data for power delivery, signal integrity, system robustness, and post-silicon performance.
• Conduct PVT, power, thermal, and power-efficiency characterization across multiple subsystems.
• Evaluate PCIe performance through signal integrity, eye opening measurements, and bit error rate analysis.
• Debug hardware issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolutions with design, firmware, and system engineering teams.
• Design DOE experiments and validate power sequencing, microcontroller functionality, noise, transients, and I2C bus compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional experience with hardware validation, laboratory testing, and PCB-level debugging.
• Strong understanding of power integrity, signal integrity, and measurement techniques.
• Experience with PCIe, I2C, power sequencing, and microcontroller-based systems.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with scripting experience in Python or Matlab.
