Workplace Platforms and Business Systems Architect

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $180,000–$235,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Design and scale workplace platform infrastructure for engineering, manufacturing, operations, and corporate teams.
• Automate workflows, reduce manual processes, and improve reliability across business-critical platforms.
• Establish governance, RBAC, and access management standards for workplace and collaboration systems.
• Create operational reporting and dashboards to improve visibility, prioritization, and decision-making.
• Partner with Security, IT, Engineering, and Operations on scalability, compliance, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IT systems, workplace platforms, technical operations, or business systems engineering.
• Expertise administering and scaling Slack, Jira, Confluence, Notion, GitHub, and related enterprise systems.
• Experience with workflow automation, scripting, CI/CD integrations, or platform tooling.
• Strong knowledge of information architecture, RBAC, IAM, access governance, security practices, and operational compliance.
• Ability to work independently, simplify complex technical and organizational challenges, and communicate across technical and non-technical groups.
• Ability to work on-site in San Carlos, California.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting hardware, robotics, manufacturing, or operational technology environments.
• Familiarity with APIs, automation tooling, systems integration platforms, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR compliance frameworks.
• Experience scaling workplace systems from startup to enterprise scale.
