TL;DR
DVT Technical Lead (AI Hardware): Owning end-to-end design validation testing for complex electrical boards, subassemblies, and AI systems with an accent on power delivery, high-speed I/O, and electro-mechanical integration. Focus on building repeatable validation infrastructure, leading root-cause analysis, driving design fixes, and improving test automation and release gating.

Location: On-site in Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $175,000–$275,000 annually, plus potential bonus and equity

What you will do

  • Own board and subassembly DVT from first power-on through design sign-off.
  • Define risk-based validation strategies, test plans, procedures, reports, stage gates, and readiness reviews.
  • Build repeatable benchtop and rack-level validation setups covering power delivery, clocking, high-speed I/O, system management interfaces, and environmental stress.
  • Lead system integration validation across electrical, mechanical, thermal, optics, reliability, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, design changes, re-testing, and data-based closure of validation failures.
  • Improve DVT throughput through scripting, standardized test stages, data capture, reporting, and automation.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8–15+ years of hardware validation or DVT experience with complex board- and system-level products.
  • Hands-on experience with board bring-up, instrumentation, test planning, debugging, and closure.
  • Strong experience validating power delivery, including sequencing, margining, droop, ripple/noise, and IR drop.
  • Strong experience validating and debugging high-speed I/O such as PCIe- or Ethernet-class links.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies or analyzers, and DC electronic loads.

Nice to have

  • Experience with rack-scale or liquid-cooled systems and environmental chambers.
  • Experience supporting compliance, safety, or EMC efforts during DVT readiness.
  • Python or similar programming experience for test automation and data analysis, including dashboards or CI workflows.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or technicians as an informal technical leader.
