Security Monitoring Operator (Cybersecurity)

Location: Bratislava, Košice, or Žilina, Slovakia

Salary: From €1,700 gross per month, plus a performance bonus of up to 10% of the basic salary paid twice per year.

What you will do

• Monitor client environments in a 24/7 MDR center and work in shifts under the guidance of experienced security experts.
• Use EDR, XDR, SIEM, and SOAR systems to detect, investigate, and mitigate security threats.
• Analyze client data, document adversary activity, identify risks and vulnerabilities, and escalate incidents when necessary.
• Participate in threat hunting, threat intelligence gathering, and other proactive security activities.
• Create and maintain low-level EDR, XDR, and SIEM detection rules.
• Improve monitoring solutions, security toolsets, incident response guidelines, playbooks, and client reporting.

Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of Windows and Linux systems.
• Knowledge of computer networks, including IP addresses, ports, protocols, and MAC addresses.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency (B2).
• Willingness to work 24/7 shifts monitoring client environments.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, patience when processing large volumes of data, and strong communication skills.
• Interest in cybersecurity and motivation for continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Background in IT security or experience in a SOC environment.
• Familiarity with SIEM or SOAR platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, Elasticsearch, or ArcSight.
• Incident response or forensic analysis experience.
• Basic scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, Bash, or LUA.
• IT security certifications, cybersecurity certifications, or participation in CTFs.
