Threat Specialist (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Perform triage of global security alerts from IPS, web security, event logs, endpoint protection, brand protection, and phishing sources.
• Respond to security incidents and assist with insider threat investigations.
• Create and revise threat detections and administer SIEM and SOAR platforms.
• Drive automated detection, response, and configuration using scripting and programming languages.
• Evaluate commercial and open-source security tools and collaborate with Information Security peers to improve the security posture.
• Document procedures, educate users on security best practices, and assess risks for new projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience of 1–3 years.
• Knowledge of Windows, macOS, or Linux, with an interest in learning additional platforms.
• Knowledge of the incident response cycle, static and dynamic malware analysis, network packet captures, networking, and cloud security.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, and SOAR products, as well as analysis of security event data.
• Experience with GitHub and at least one of PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, or Perl.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
