Product Engineer focussed on the Backend

Location: London; in-person work five days per week. Relocation assistance is available for candidates moving to London.

Salary: £100K–£130K base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the evolution and scaling of backend infrastructure.
• Design and implement performant APIs and services.
• Build infrastructure supporting AI capabilities and new product features.
• Optimize PostgreSQL database performance and query efficiency.
• Improve reliability and observability through monitoring and alerting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support continuous product innovation.

Requirements

• Engineering experience in technology and product-driven environments.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and Terraform infrastructure as code.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and AWS Lambda.
• Understanding of security best practices and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with AI/ML infrastructure.
• Previous startup experience or strong interest in zero-to-one product development.
