Staff ML Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Palo Alto HQ, with in-office collaboration 3 days per week

Base salary: $190,000–$234,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build machine learning models, systems, and web applications that deliver Generative AI capabilities to customers.
• Define the roadmap for generating personalized and brand-aligned text, image, audio, and video content.
• Own initiatives across technical design, specification, development, testing, and launch.
• Establish processes for training, fine-tuning, testing, and operating Generative AI models at scale.
• Investigate, prototype, and deliver innovative machine learning solutions.
• Define, track, and operationalize feature, product, and company-level metrics in collaboration with Product, Business, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling systems for training, testing, and running machine learning models.
• Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience building and evolving large-scale ML training and inference systems for real-world applications.
• Demonstrated machine learning innovation through publications, projects, or comparable accomplishments.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ or equivalent, with the ability to create reusable and testable modules.
• Experience with AzureML, GCP Vertex, AWS SageMaker, or similar platforms.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience deploying and tuning Generative AI models in the cloud or on local systems.
• Experience at a high-growth startup or technology company.
• Publications or research experience in machine learning venues and vision or language applications.
