Security Engineer (AI Life Sciences)

What you will do

• Drive and build the security function end to end, ensuring trust with pharma partners.
• Represent Chai's security posture in reviews with CISOs and cloud security architects.
• Drive platform and infrastructure changes based on security feedback.
• Partner with product and platform engineers to embed security controls and automate compliance.
• Own detection, response, and incident management processes.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in San Francisco or work onsite at the San Francisco office
• 5+ years in security engineering with experience building or improving security programs at high-growth companies.
• Proficiency in writing production code in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams in startup or high-growth environments.
• Credibility to represent security posture to pharma CISOs.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance programs.

Nice to have

• Experience in life sciences or other regulated industries.
• Background in biology (not required).
